    At Franklin, going back to college doesn’t have to mean starting over -- it means finishing your degree faster and more affordably, thanks to our generous transfer credit policy.
  • Technical/Vocation Credit Accepted:
    Our generous transfer credit program grants technical credit toward your degree for your vocational, technical and other experience.
  • Credit For Life Experience:
    Professional training and work experience count toward your bachelor’s degree. If you’re an active duty or reserve service member, a member of the National Guard or a military veteran, you may be eligible for credit for your military experience.

Transfer Application Requirements

  • Official Transcripts:
    If you will not be transferring 60 credits from an accredited college or university, please provide both your official high school and college transcripts. If you will be transferring 60 or more credits, please provide official college transcripts.
  • Application Fee:
    Applying to Franklin is free and we accept applications year-round.
  • Other Requirements:
    Depending on your academic background, visa status or intended program, there could be additional paperwork or steps needed, such as placement tests, before you can register for classes.

Transfer Credit Policy

  • Minimum Grade:
    Credit will be accepted for any college course completed with a grade of D or higher, including grades of “Pass” and examination credit, subject to GPA and course requirements of the major program. D grades are not permitted in major area courses.
  • Credits (Min/Max):
    Franklin will accept up to 94 semester hours of transfer credit toward a bachelor's degree, and 44 semester hours toward an associate degree.
